A Filmic Nod to Tod’s

Tod’s may be better known for loafers and driving shoes than satin-point slippers, but this fall the Italian brand teams up with Milan’s historic ballet and opera house Teatro alla Scala to produce a conceptual dance film that depicts the intricate assemblage of a Tod’s driving moccasin. Directed by renowned German filmmaker Matthias Zentner, the film features La Scala’s dancers interpreting Tod’s step-by-step production process through movement. Marking La Scala’s first luxury collaboration since its inauguration in 1778, the project embodies the bravado and refinement of both artistic institutions. It also aims to reinforce just what “Made in Italy” means. To further this creative partnership, Tod’s will fund La Scala’s production costs for the next year. More info at tods.com
