Cigarettes and Eskimo Kisses: Miyako Bellizzi Takes Us to Dinner With Versace

If you, like the rest of us, were gobsmacked by the rich, period-specific costuming in Marty Supreme, you should thank costume designer Miyako Bellizzi, who worked with everyone from Jay-Z and The Weeknd to Johnnie Walker and Nike before helping the Safdie brothers bring Good Time and Uncut Gems to life. It was no surprise, then, that her Marty Supreme fits nabbed the California native her very first Oscar nomination. To celebrate, Versace convened Bellizzi’s closest friends—Jen Brill, Sophie Buhai, Ricky Saiz, Synmia Rosine, and Marty star Odessa A’zion, among others—for an intimate dinner at Ètra in Los Angeles last week to celebrate. But don’t stress if you didn’t get the invite: Bellizzi, decked out in the brand’s latest collection, wrote up a photo diary of the evening, just for us.

Started the day at the Versace store on Rodeo and I felt exactly like Nomi in Showgirls.

My heart smiled as soon as the door flew open and my feet hit the pavement. I’d arrived to a room of the most special friends in my life. My family. Like Leif!! Fun fact, we lived together for a decade in NYC and everyone always 1) thought we were dating and 2) thought he was Joaquin Phoenix. I played it cool and always said yes when they asked 😉
