INTER-Picks: The Hooded Parka

JACKETS BY AKRIS, BRUNELLO CUCINELLI, NICOLAS K

I’ll stand by the classics, and this season, my Burberry and Miu Miu trenches aren’t going anywhere. But I’m also open to a new addition in the form of this year’s new staple: the hooded parka, in a lightweight fabric for spring. The hood is a must, particularly after our recent bout of late April showers in New York. The following options range from high to low and will help keep your head dry in the storm: Akris, known for luxurious fabrics and incredibly wearable pieces, makes a hooded rain parka in dark green nylon that can be worn well into fall ($2300.00). Brunello Cucinelli’s water resistant coat is a sportier option, but the water resistant fabrics might be worth the investment ($1580.00 at Bergdorf Goodman ). Nicholas K has always been a favorite of mine for cool outerwear that is never obvious and always incredibly practical. This parka comes in a hunter green and is a mini lightweight version of a three-year-old hooded park I own for fall that I still wear throughout the winter ($474.00).
