Cowboys and Cumshots: Behind the Scenes of the 7th Annual Pornhub Awards

The Met Gala might’ve been last week, but across the country, in the Other Hollywood, the adult film industry rolled out the red carpet for its biggest movie stars. This past Thursday marked the 7th annual Pornhub Awards, where pornstars, celebs, crew, and connoisseurs of erotic cinema came together after a frenzied week of fan voting to celebrate what gets the people going. This year, the invite-only crowd took over Sunset Boulevard’s Western outpost, Saddle Ranch, for a horny hoedown hosted by L.A.’s favorite comedian, Jordan Firstman, (whose salacious new album Secrets was reviewed by a Grindr anon for Interview last month). “The role I was born for,” he says. A cast of VIPs and industry icons—think Kim Petras, Chris Hanley, Asa Akira, Angela White, Queenie Sateen, and Girthmasterr, some clad in assless chaps and cowboy hats—watched with bated breath as Firstman unveiled the data on the debauchery, crowning winners in categories like Top Twink Performer, Favorite MILF, Best Cumshot, and Nicest Tits. But it wasn’t all play: the celebration also honored Pornhub’s longtime partnership with sex work outreach group SWOP Behind Bars, who do the hard work (no pun intended) of protecting the industry’s most marginalized.
