The Brooklyn Artists Ball Sets the Table

Published April 16, 2014

At tonight’s Brooklyn Artists Ball to benefit the Brooklyn Museum, the centerpiece exhibition will be just that—a literal centerpiece exhibition, featuring tablescapes created by 16 artists and designed variously to make gala-goers’ dinner experiences more thoughtful, playful, creative, and mind-blowing. Guests will also enjoy a performance by our main man Le1f and dessert by the always inventive Amirah Kassem of Flour Shop—either of which on its own would be enough to inspire us to borough-hop—and the opportunity to purchase works by the featured artists. We caught up with 11 of them to discuss their creations, including Olek, Ghost of a Dream, Alejandro Guzman, Oliver Clegg, and more; click through our slideshow above to learn about their inspirations and execution. —Alexandria Symonds
