Shane Michael Boose was only 17 when he dropped out of LaGuardia High to pursue a career as Sombr, a sharp-cheeked rock-n-roller with a passion for unrequited love. But it wasn’t until a few years later that he found his stride, first on TikTok with feed-friendly hits like “Back to Friends,” and later, on the road with a tear-inducing live act. But the passion flows both ways. As Sombr gears up for a sold-out tour, he tells us just how much he loves you.

Where do you write?
“Late at night in my home studio.”
Who inspires you?
“David Lynch, Jeff Buckley, John Lennon, David Bowie, Elton John, Billie Eilish, Brian Wilson, Radiohead, the Stones, the Velvet Underground, Prince, Oasis.”
How do you feel in front of a camera?
“It doesn’t faze me.”

Every time I see a beautiful girl that I don’t have the courage to speak to.

I’m not too sure because I haven’t found them yet. Is it even real?
