“Tea, Pajamas, Japanese Incense”: The Iris Law Guide to Los Angeles

BTS photos courtesy of Iris Law.
Iris Law might be a London gal, but she has a soft spot for L.A.—and so does Casablanca. The brand’s 2026 Resort collection, replete with airy tennis sets and monogram swim suits, is a colorful love letter to the fresh serenity of La La Land and the effortlessness of Angelinos. Last week, Law, never one to shy away from adventure, was more than happy to hop on a quick call to rave about where she plans to wear the collection, her L.A. food staples, and her commitment to walking through the most car-dependent of American cities. “Normalize walking when you can,” she told us, “but people just think I’m crazy.”

ARY RUSSELL: Hi, how are you?
IRIS LAW: I’m good. How are you?
RUSSELL: I’m good. I’m so happy to be talking to you.
LAW: Thank you. Me too.
RUSSELL: I was looking through the collection and the campaign and it’s very L.A.-centric. In your opinion, what does L.A. do best?
LAW: I’d say L.A. does the best activities. People will be down to do fun different things, like go hiking, go rock climbing, try a new place, just being up and doing things outside of work.

RUSSELL: Do you have a favorite activity?
LAW: I went rock climbing for the first time the other day. I really liked it.
RUSSELL: Oh, in a gym or on a mountain?
LAW: In a gym.
RUSSELL: How was that?
LAW: My friends always go rock climbing in the gym and it’s fun.
RUSSELL: That’s so fun. On the opposite end, what’s something that London does that L.A. should adopt?
LAW: Being able to walk around.

Campaign photos shot by Corentin Leroux.
RUSSELL: That’s for sure.
LAW: Well, because I walk in L.A. and everyone thinks it’s so funny. My friends are like, “Iris just pretends like she’s in London. She’ll just take a 25-minute walk.” And I’m like, “So?” And they’re like, “You don’t do that. You can’t just walk down Melrose.” And I’m like, “Why?” So I’m like, “Normalize walking when you can,” but people just think it’s crazy.
RUSSELL: Do you have an L.A. hidden gem that you’ve been gatekeeping?
LAW: My favorite rotisserie place, but I don’t want to tell anyone.

RUSSELL: Okay. [Laughs] I’m wondering how many rotisserie places there are in L.A., so I’m sure readers will try to investigate.
LAW: It’s Peruvian rotisserie chicken and it’s got two tables in it.
RUSSELL: I wanted to talk a little bit about the Casablanca collection. Where can you imagine that you’re going to be wearing these items?
LAW: Oh, everywhere! After I go to the gym, I come home and shower if I’m not working, and then I’m out until 11:00 every night. I like being comfortable and I don’t ever wear anything that’s uncomfy, because I just want to be outside all day, moving around. But I want to look colorful, I want to look cute, and I want to be able to go to tons of different places in the same outfit. And this collection is the exact thing that I try and do, which is a mixture of girly and cute, a mixture of put-together but also comfy and can kind of go anywhere in it. You know what I mean?
RUSSELL: Yeah. On your Instagram, you seem like you’re a very on-the-go, jet-set type of person. Do you have packing must-haves? What are you packing in your suitcase for your trips?

LAW: Hot water bottle, journal, tea, comfy pajamas, and incense.
RUSSELL: So when you go to your hotel room, you’re kind of cleansing the space?
LAW: No, I’m not that vibe. [Laughs] I’m not like, “Oh, cleanse the aura.” I just have this Japanese incense. I like having rituals in my day. I drink the same teas and I bring around my own cup and I bring around my own incense, which is Japanese incense as opposed to Indian incense.
RUSSELL: That’s really cool.

LAW: It just means when I’m traveling for work, I still feel like I have autonomy over my life.
RUSSELL: Yeah, it’s really grounding. Do you have a favorite piece from the resort collection?
LAW: Yeah, I like the jersey, the collard jumper and skirt, the black-blue and like the black line.
RUSSELL: For sure. You referenced the Peruvian restaurant, which we’ll let you gatekeep. But I heard that you’re kind of a foodie. Any L.A. restaurants that you’re currently obsessing over?
LAW: I love ordering Zankou Chicken. It’s Mediterranean, you make a plate, and it’s rice, chicken and salad. I like ordering that. And I like Sapp Coffee Shop, the Thai place.

RUSSELL: What’s your order there?
LAW: I get the chicken lard and the vegetables and the beef broth and salad. But everything is really spicy. I’m really good with spice, but I still have to say make it less spicy.
RUSSELL: Are you someone who’s more spicy, savory, or sweet? Any particular flavors in your food that you prefer?
LAW: I think I’m 50/50 sweet and savory. Everyone thinks I’m more sweet, but I don’t actually eat that many sweet things. I just post them more because they’re more photogenic. [Laughs]

RUSSELL: They fit with the aesthetic for Instagram more. [Laughs] I totally understand.
LAW: Everyone is like, “All you do is eat sweets.” I’m like, “Well, I don’t post a picture of my bowl of meat.”
RUSSELL: You’re like, “The hamburger is not the vibe.”
LAW: Yeah.
RUSSELL: I’m going to ask you to finish the sentence. When I think of Casablanca, I think of…
LAW: I mean, the actual first answer I thought was “color,” because I really like the colors in this collection, so that’s my answer.
RUSSELL: It fits so well with Los Angeles. It’s so warm and vibrant and colorful. “Color” is a good answer.
LAW: I’m sure I could think of other answers, but that’s my actual answer.
RUSSELL: That’s great.
LAW: Yay. Thank you. Have a lovely day.
RUSSELL: You as well. Bye-bye.
