THE STUDIOHOMME TEAM

If you’re the kind of man who yearns to stroll around the Left Bank, drenched in Parisian style,  look no further than StudioHomme for expanding the vision (and contents) of your closet. Founded with the mission of “bringing the French male aesthetic to the world,” the recently opened online boutique was founded by two friends with a pedigree in French menswear and luxury retail. Sébastien Roubaud and Arnaud Vanraet first worked together at Colette, Paris’s most renowned boutique, and they continued to work together at Dior Homme and Hermès before jumping ship to launch the multifaceted online destination that would become StudioHomme. “We saw that there wasn’t a great boutique online for men that showed the French perspective…,” Roubaud illuminates about the decision to create the boutique, “…And we knew we could do it in a way that stayed away from the flashy runway pieces and focused on the simple and classic looks.”  Though Roubaud and Vanraet have a shared history at well-established fashion powerhouses, the selections they present focus on building close relationships with bourgeoning designers such as French sportswear brand Kitsuné and Mr. Hare, whose stingray-fabricated shoes are one of the most compelling pieces on the site. Going one step further, StudioHomme’s focus on independent designers is matched only by the duo’s desire to create and showcase a discourse between the retailer and their designers; each month, the site features an interview with a different designer.  Though Sébastien says that carrying women’s clothing is far off on the horizon, StudioHomme is initiating starting several collaborations—and though he won’t elaborate too much, he does admit, “We’re starting to talk about creating private-label ready-to-wear.” Log in!
