Simone Rocha’s Fantasy Forest
“I saw a bride in a bamboo forest,” read the notes for Simone Rocha’s Spring/Summer ’16 collection. Many of the looks in the presentation did have an elegant ephemerality about them, evidenced in the translucent chiffon that appeared throughout in black, maroon, gold, and peach. In other looks, though, the forest was far more present than the bride. Short power suits arrived with tiny floral embellishments and floppy bows, an acknowledgement of the theme that still left room for some play.
