The Luxurious Poverty of Lanvin

Lucas Ossendrijver and Alber Elbaz  have put the Lanvin man on a crash course of frayed edges, inside out zippers, make-do patching and convertible styling with jacket and coat shoulders unzipping for a sleeveless alternative. Patched windbreakers, rough tunics, backpacks, and orthopedic belts in muddy colors look ready to cross the river at the high water mark. Imagine a previously prosperous dude whose former finery is now coming apart at the seams and unravelling attractively. Fingerless gloves, wingtip shoes cut out and re-patched into boots and a string bag formerly owned by a mojo man complete the ensemble.
