Yesterday, L’Wren Scott and Adam Glassman held a breakfast at Barneys for Scott’s debut bag collection. The Lula (named after Scott’s mother) comes in small, large and “weekender,” in calf, python and crocodile. Scott’s bag is an updated take on a classic investment bag—a hard feat to take on, but Scott pulls it off. The smart, angled shape allows to bag to carry more than it appears to, and the double strap top guarantees comfort to carry on your shoulder or wrist.
“The biggest part of my fashion choices is how comfortable it is,” explained Scott.
The label is displayed discreetly on the inside of the bag, and the exotic skins are numbered. Scott took care to make sure the bag sits and opens elegantly. Additionally, Scott—whose tall frame has caused her to take special notice to proportional dressing all her life—made a bag that complements its owner’s size.
Asked what she carries in her bag, Scott revealed her top go-to item. “I always have to have my lipstick. Sometimes I have more than one shade, start with one color for the morning, one for night. Sometimes I have a couple shades just in case I need something more powerful for the day.”
She added a few of the modern chic lady’s essentials: “I’m always have tissues, I always have Altoids, my money, various currencies, passport. Vitamin C. Purell. iPad. Maybe I don’t need the iPad and the iPhone. Before the Lula, I couldn’t carry them all. But now the iPad has its own special pocket.”
