Happy Tuesday! Here’s our compendium of pop-culture news you may have missed while you were doing more important things over the Presidents’ Day weekend.
• Justin Bieber cut his hair(!!!!), and will be auctioning off snippings for multiple charities. Somehow the world has continued turning, but we’re not sure for how much longer. [TMZ]
• A former top Sarah Palin aide wrote an unpublished tell-all manuscript that’s been leaked into reporters’ inboxes; Gawker has excerpts. [Gawker]
• Though I Am Number Four was widely predicted to win this weekend’s box office, Liam Neeson thriller Unknown edged it out of the number-one spot, with $21.8M. Number Four eked out $19.4M; Gnomeo and Juliet, Just Go With It, and Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son rounded out the top 5. [BOM]
• The 1,800 invitations to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding have been printed and delivered. Those not invited reportedly include Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, as well as President and Mrs. Obama. The invitation (Us has a photo) indicates that gentlemen should wear a “uniform, morning coat or lounge suit.” No Oxford comma! [Us]
• Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan, will be in 3-D and will be shot in Australia. And East Egg is in space, and Nick Carraway will be played by Gilbert Gottfried. (Some of these facts aren’t true.) [NYT]
