Netflix premiered the trailer for their latest dystopian dive, Altered Carbon today.
Based on the cyberpunk sci-fi novel by Richard K. Morgan, the series is set in a future world where humans are able to transplant their minds and personalities into new bodies, or “sleeves,” after they’ve died, a costly privilege enjoyed primarily by the wealthy. Altered Carbon joins a trendy lineup of other twisted, technologically driven imminent future shows, HBO’s Westworld and Netflix favorite Black Mirror among them.
Featuring a relatively low-key cast—stars include newcomer Antonio Marziale and The Man in the High Castle’s Hiro Kanagawa—it’ll be interesting to see the breakout faces of Netflix’s potential next hit show.
