Kim Kardashian, Joe Jonas, and Anna Delvey’s Farewell: This Week’s NYC Celeb News Map

This week, all the world’s celebrities (save Rihanna) went camping. At this year’s Met Gala, Frank Ocean mingled with Jeff Bezos, Lizzo with Katy Perry (in a full cheeseburger getup) and Lady Gaga with her coterie of men with umbrellas, hoisting up a 25-foot-long train as she performed a four-act striptease on the pink carpet. Following the event, Kim Kardashian co-hosted a CBD-themed after party at Up&Down, while Ryan Murphy took a cadre of celebs to Hudson Yards. Later in the week, the newly married Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner celebrated their union at the Louis Vuitton show at JFK, but things didn’t turn out so swimmingly for Soho grifter Anna Delvey. Here, we’ve tracked the best of the best star sightings, outfits, and other famous-ish things, making news across New York City’s five boroughs during the week of May 5.

After arriving on the Met Gala’s pink carpet in an original Mugler trompe l’oeil ensemble — the first in 20 years — Kim Kardashian hosted a party at Up&Down with some help from Serena Williams, Travis Scott, LaLa Anthony and Trevor Noah. Also assisting were Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Hailey Baldwin (er, Bieber ) who passed around eucalyptus mint hemp CBD pens, courtesy of Kurvana, a “luxe cannabis brand.” Kim is an avid fan of the miracle herb; she’s already been planning her CBD-themed baby shower. Next year’s Met Gala theme?

Meanwhile, some of the campiest of the camp descended upon Hudson Yards for a Met Gala afterparty hosted by Ryan Murphy and Janet Mock. Billy Porter, in his gold Cleopatra homage, danced alongside Bette Midler, Laverne Cox, and Judith Light as Lady Bunny DJed. Who said Hudson Yards was sterile?

On the coattails of their shotgun wedding in Las Vegas, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner were seen at the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2020 show at JFK’s defunct T.W.A. Terminal. “So I know a lot of people have been waiting to find out my new name,” Sophie said in a video for the fashion label. “My new name is Sophie Vuitton. Sansa Fierce. Louis Turner.” Here’s hoping the show gave the couple some honeymoon inspiration.

ANNA DELVEY, NEW YORK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURT, CHINATOWN, MANHATTAN

Anna Delvey is still in court — though not for long. The Soho grifter was sentenced Thursday to over four years in prison, with a maximum sentence of 12 years. Her sentencing outfit was chic and funereal: a high-necked black dress, her signature black-framed court glasses, and a somber expression fit for a funeral. Perhaps most unfortunate for the glitz-obsessed Soho grifter, Judge Diane Kiesel ordered her to pay almost $199,000 in restitution, as well as a fine of $24,000. Anna’s lawyers had described her tale as an age-old New York hustler story, invoking the lyrics of Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York.” But Judge Kiesel said in her sentencing remarks that she was more so reminded of a different song. “I heard Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Blinded by the Light.’ She was blinded by the glitter and glamour of New York City.” But is that a crime?
