Cannelle Would Have Killed on Tumblr
Welcome to SOUND ADVICE, Interview’s destination for playlists curated by our friends, enemies, and lovers. In recent weeks, we’ve featured playlists from Eera, Eli, and Petra Collins. This week’s installment comes to us courtesy of Cannelle, the Marseille-born, LA-based artist packing night clubs worldwide with her bilingual electropop sound. Raised on the French dance floor beats of Daft Punk and DJ Mehdi and the pastel aesthetics of Tumblr moodboards, she’s the perfect synthesis of rave culture and bubblegum pop. Following the long-anticipated release of her debut mixtape, CINNA, and a sold-out show at Market Hotel in Bushwick, Cannelle built us a playlist filled with her favorite summer sounds and club anthems—from major stars like Madonna and Solange to electronic up-and-comers like B0YG1RL and MGNA Crrrta. She also took a stab at our questionnaire, revealing her dream collabs, music taste red flags, and go-to spot for the afters.
