Guns N’ Roses Do Fashion Week

Fashion Week got off to a very special start last night at Manhattan’s John Varvatos store–the former home of CBGB–where Gun’s ‘n Roses gifted a private party crowd with a seventeen song set, complete with encore. Equipped with only a fedora and a dream, Axl performed a stripped-down, bluesy version of Appetite For Destruction‘s “My Michelle” (above), sounding more bar band than hair metal. It’s a pleasant departure from the everything-and-the-kitchen-sink electronic garble of Chinese Democracy. Besides, where better than fashion week to sing about “sowin’ all your wild oats in another’s luxuries?”
