Ralph Lauren began his presentation with the ’60s schoolgirl, cutely clad in black and white with black knee socks, matching black ties, and striped blazers. Then all of a sudden came a wave of bright block-colored shifts, skirt suits, and gowns—reminding us that American prep always looks better in Technicolor.
