Macho Cuts and a Nacho Ad from Ralph Lauren Black Label Denim

Ralph Lauren Black Label Denim—not to be confused with Johan Lindeberg’s BLK DNM—launches today, and the brand’s certainly picked an effective way to get us to notice the new menswear line: by casting Nacho Figueras in its first ad [image above]. Once you’ve torn your eyes away from Figueras’ smoldering visage, you’ll notice the line isn’t half-bad either: it features deep, dark denim with an industrial edge and plenty of idiosyncratic accents. (Check out the pockets on Figueras’ right thigh! Do you think he uses them to hold girls’ hearts?)

There’s more to the line than jeans: peacoats, shirts, sport coats and trenchcoats have been reimagined in luxury denim finishes, too; and the occasional leather shirt and cashmere sweater makes its way into the collection for a little variety. But the emphasis, of course, is on the pants, and they’ve got quite a range on offer—skinny, straight, cargo, even wide-leg pleated trousers for the very brave—for $225–450. T-shirts and shirts run $80–350, and outerwear up to $1295. Check out some of the looks above, and visit Black Label Denim online for the rest.
