Milan-based ski wear house Moncler is bringing its functional, streamlined jackets, boots, and bags from the slopes of Aspen and beyond to our very own Soho. The new boutique, which opens its doors tomorrow, signifies the next step in the line’s global expansion, of which president Remo Ruffini notes: “I wanted the label to be true to its roots: the jacket was the core of the new era.” With the second of its U.S. openings (its first was in Aspen), which follows on the heels of stores in Paris, Milan, London, and Hong Kong, the new Soho shop will offer a full range for men and women, alongside covetable collaborations with Giambattista Valli and Thom Brown. “Both have their own vision of the Moncler style, both modern, but in different ways. They were the perfect way to bring the Moncler spirit into a new creative world and have a great vanguard-classic attitude in terms of creativity and vision. That’s the real talent, in my opinion.”
