Martha Stewart’s Best Friend Is Her Garden

The theme of the night was blinding bling at Cartier’s gala to celebrate their new Résonances de Cartier collection and forthcoming Haute Joaillerie Exhibition at the jewelry house’s Fifth Avenue store. So, in honor of all of the above we asked some red carpet goers, TV personality/OG foodie Martha Stewart and actress Sofia Boutella, about diamonds and dreams.

INTERVIEW: What really makes you sparkle?

MARTHA STEWART: Glitter; luminescence; my grandchildren.

SOFIA BOUTELLA: A good laugh.

INTERVIEW: Are diamonds your best friend? If not, who is?

STEWART: Not really. My garden is.

BOUTELLA: They can certainly be. I heard they are my birthstone.

INTERVIEW: What did you dream about last night?

STEWART: Last night I did not dream, I was awake. I didn’t sleep well.

BOUTELLA: I dreamt that I was on some ferry, and then on some trolley, arriving at some dinner. And here I am, look at this!

INTERVIEW: What does someone have to do for you to buy them jewelry?

STEWART: For me to buy them jewelry? I’m not going to buy anyone jewelry! No way.

BOUTELLA: They have to break my heart open and then fix it! No, I don’t know. They have to make me laugh; they have to be kind and I have to love them, just fall in love with them, in any way shape or form.
