This is SOUND ADVICE, a weekly destination for playlists curated by Interview’s friends, enemies, and lovers. Over the past few weeks, we’ve gathered playlists by Daniel Fisher, a.k.a. Physical Therapy, Ethel Cain, and Mike Sabath. This week’s installment is brought to you by Louie Pastel and Felix of genre-melding alt-rap-rock duo Paris Texas. Just after releasing a surreal music video to “Everybody’s Safe Until…”, the grim but catchy third single from their debut album MID AIR, the pair hit us up with a summer fun playlist featuring Flying Lotus, Rx Papi, and Janet Jackson. “You know when Charlie Brown tries to kick the ball and Lucy pulls the ball from him? These songs make me feel I’m Charlie Brown and I’ve finally kicked the ball into the sun,” says Louie, who, with Felix, answered our SOUND ADVICE questionnaire below.
