This is SOUND ADVICE, a weekly destination for playlists curated by Interview’s friends, enemies, and lovers. Over the past few weeks, we’ve gathered playlists from Wallows, Will August Park, and DJ Avalon. This week’s installment comes from Swiss-born, Nashville-bred singer Soccer Mommy, who’s just embarked on her North American tour. Fresh off the release of her newest album Evergreen in October, the “Driver” singer made us the indie playlist of our dreams before she revealed her affinity for goth dance nights in Nashville and how she stays evergreen in such a turbulent music industry.

Where do you dance? I like to go out to dance nights in Nashville sometimes. There’s a goth night that’s pretty fun.

Who do you trust most with the aux cord? My partner Julian.

What was your first concert? Hilary Duff when I was 7.

Bluetooth or wired headphones? Bluetooth. Love my AirPods.

Name three things you always have on you at the function: Chapstick, phone, gummy worms.

What song on this playlist do you wish you wrote? “Posters” by Long Beard.

The world is ending. What are you wearing? Probably just jeans and a t-shirt.

Fuck, marry, kill: dance moms, soccer moms, boy moms. Umm, I guess marry soccer moms. Don’t have an opinion on the other two.

Who is the queen of rock music? Maybe Chrissie Hynde?

What really goes down in Stardew Valley? Farming and dating.

Sunglasses inside: yes or no? Nah.

Nashville or New York? Nashville.

Who’s in your musical coven? Maybe Lindsey Jordan and Sasami? And Alicia Bognanno.

What’s the best setting to listen to your newest album Evergreen? Listen to it driving around with the windows down on a nice day.

How does one stay evergreen in the music industry? I think you just stay true to what you want to do and keep pushing yourself to get better.

Least favorite star sign? I refuse to answer.

What is your guilty pleasure? Gummy worms.

What song has the best guitar riff of all time? Hmm, there’s so many good ones. The riff from “Trying” by Bully always gets stuck in my head.
