Welcome to SOUND ADVICE, Interview’s weekly destination for playlists curated by our friends, enemies, and lovers. In recent weeks, we’ve featured playlists from Between Friends, Tommy Genesis, and Jackzebra. This week’s installment comes from U.K.’s pop princess, PinkPantheress, who’s cherishing a summer of meet cutes and really glad to meet you’s after her hit single “Illegal” sparked one of the year’s biggest TikTok trends. But when she does meet you, just make sure you address her properly—it’s Dr. Pantheress now. Yes, the Bath-born singer and producer has just received her honorary doctorate degree from the University of Kent, and she’s striking while the iron is hot with the release of her mixtape Fancy That, a set on the Woodsies Stage at Glastonbury, and her television debut on The Tonight Show. Before she sets off on her North American tour, she made us a playlist and answered our questionnaire, where she unveiled her dream collaboration, studio session holy grails, and thoughts on fade-outs.
