With a fan base that includes Rihanna, Lil’ Kim, Kash Doll, and a Toy Poodle named Chanel, Chicago-based rapper Dreezy is set to conquer the Internet airwaves, as well as the NYFW runways. An enthusiast of the French fashion house — her single with Kash Doll is called “Chanel Slides” — the rapper has been on a steady come-up, starting with her newly released album Big Dreez. The album showcases Dreezy’s infectious flow and her roster of heavy-hitting collaborators, including Jeremih, Offset, and her boyfriend Jacques. In the midst of a tour that includes a stop at SXSW, Dreezy took a short break from her trail of success to share her camera roll with us — which includes a relatable stream of dogs, late-night fast food binges, and, perhaps less relatable, pearl bras, Powerpuff Girls shorts, and thigh-high patent leather boots.

“I have a puppy named Chanel. Jacquees [Dreezy’s boyfriend and fellow rapper] bought her for me as a Valentine’s Day gift. She’s a two-month-old toy poodle. We ain’t want no mutt. She’s just 100 percent poodle. When I first got her, they brought her home in a Chanel bag, and she had a Chanel scarf on because I love Chanel. So, I named her Chanel. Chanel Penelope Sledge. She was in the Chanel store in that picture. She’s a bougie bitch.”

“The outfit with the pearls was basically a photo shoot that I did with Gabriel Held. He’s an iconic stylist that’s worked with all of the dopest female rappers in the game. I went over to his house in New York, and he had a lot of vintage pieces and we wanted to recreate a new Chanel look that hadn’t been done. A lot of people do the Chanel look with a black bodysuit and gold chains and all gold Chanel, word. But, we wanted to do all pearl because pearl is just classy. I don’t see a lot of girls doing pearls. I see the diamonds get done, the golds, and the silvers. Pearl was just so different and classic. It’s just timeless. We was trying to recreate the Chanel look in a way it hadn’t been done yet. That’s one of my favorite looks.”

That was at New York Fashion Week. Lil’ Kim been my girl for a long time. I met her in New York on her birthday, and we went out to eat. We just had fun. Ever since then, she just call me her little baby, and she been so supportive and everything. So, that was us backstage reunited. Just sharing memories with each other, reminiscing, and just good vibes.”

“I was probably up late that day. I’m not a morning person, so I’m never up that early. That’s my mama’s food. My mama makes the best food in the world. I love my mama food.”

“That picture was when I shot my movie Beats with Anthony Anderson and Dave East. I shot that in Chicago. I basically just had to play a rapper from the streets that came up. They ended up turning me into a superstar, they took my talent to the next level. So it’s kinda like real-life. That was my first movie role I acted in, and it’s coming out this year. It’s gonna be on Netflix, girl.”

“The first basketball game that I went to was Bulls vs. Lakers — you know I’m team Bulls. I just really love that outfit. It was so stylish to me. I love The Powerpuff Girls. I tried to get a sporty-girly look. So you can see me with the nice baggy jacket and shorts with some tall black heels, like thigh-high.”
