With Fall 2009 men’s Fashion Week just around the corner, two “likely lads” poised to make an impact are Julian Wenke and Lucas R: Both of whom recently scored coveted spots in Prada Linea Rossa’s Spring 2009 lookbook. History tells us that attracting the eye of Miuccia Prada leads to very good things: Just ask Sasha Pivovarova. So far unfettered by their burgeoning careers, the German-born and bred Julian and Lucas enjoyed a low-key holiday season with their respective friends and families.

The dizzying pace of upcoming fashion weeks might daunt even the pluckiest of it-boys, and Lucas jokes that he’s preparing for it all by staying home, “so that nothing dangerous happens” before his shows. Julian will seek inspiration in books, but admits that he will still “pay more attention to the way I walk than usual.” After walking for the fall collections, in March he will “finally finish” his customary two-year national service, and then shift into professional overdrive, hoping to score his first ad campaign. Meanwhile, Lucas, who considers his current Arena Homme+ cover his most exciting project to date is being practical, and aims for “high marks in school,” an achievement he considers paramount to his future.
