In 2009, Oscar de la Renta’s son Moises proved that style can be hereditary by launching MLDR, his very own women’s ready-to-wear line. Now the 27-year-old de la Renta is planning to expand his fashion empire with a brand-new venture: an online shop and digital concept magazine called Moises Oscar. As of now, moisesoscar.com doesn’t contain much beyond a fast-paced trip through the color wheel. Soon, though, the site will have a wealth of content, including pieces about culture, health, beauty, food, travel, and the environment. That last subject is of particular interest to de la Renta: “My site will shed light on NPOs, nature and conservation, and eco-fashion,” he tells Interview. Even Moises Oscar’s beauty content will concentrate on ecologically sound and sustainable practices and products. Photography will be another important component of the site—de la Renta is passionate about “capturing beautiful and unique objects, settings, and people while expressing a certain point of view.”
Moises Oscar will also function as a digital store that sells pieces like MDLR’s signature blouses, T-shirts, and day dresses. Soon, de la Renta hopes to expand his inventory to include accessories and jewelry; he may also add Oscar de la Renta fragrances to his stock at some point in the future, though as of now, he has “yet to decide” whether his father’s wares will be available in Moises Oscar. Get a glimpse at MDLR’s next collection by watching the following atmospheric video, in which a willowy model struts down a city street while wearing one of de la Renta’s dresses.
