This season, Lanvin’s mens collection featurd heavy wools, headbands and fabrics galore. Those are the kinds of things that aliens, undoubtedly, would want to wear. And then there was the harnessing theme, as many models almost seemed to be wearing their back braces on the outside, like some kind of other-worldly exoskeleton. The pairing of the classic dinner jacket and sci-fi parachute pants pairing amounts to an Intergalactic Tux (pictured above, look 37); it was the standout number of the show. Part Cole Porter, part Hans Solo, Elbaz and Ossendrijver were certainly designing this number with the gentlemen of the future in mind.
