Timeless: Jeremy Scott for Swatch

Jack-of-all-trends Jeremy Scott can now add the timeless title of watch designer to his already ecstatically full resume. Scott was recently chosen by Swatch to infuse some colorful Britishness and shameless pop vibes into the Swiss brand: today, the designer launches a collaborative line at Colette, and he hasn’t skipped a beat. There are tiny wings on one model, a cartoon-like lightning on another.

“Swatch had no idea that I was a huge fan of the brand and still have my first Swatch that I got when I was a teenager,” the designer told Interview. Scott says that he’s always looking for collaborations, because his universe encompasses “youth culture at large… today, fashion is so much more a part of a pop-culture vernacular, and this makes for a larger customer base.”

Scott’s capsule series is part of the company’s Artistic series, a project that asks creative souls from various backgrounds to reinterpret the watches’ understated lines. This ranges from Nu-Rave Hackney-based designer Cassette Playa, to Chilean-born, Brooklyn-based artist Ivàn Navarro. “I am an artist by birth and a designer by trade,” said Scott. “But I don’t do windows, if that’s what you’re asking.”
