Ferragamo Goes Back to the Future and Beyond for Winter 2021

As we near the alleged end of the COVID-19 global pandemic, earthlings have started to look ahead—and Paul Andrew, the creative director at Salvatore Ferragamo and the youngest designer to win the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award, is hoping for an iridescent, disruptive, and positive future. The brand’s latest collection is titled “Future Positive,” and it takes inspiration from science-fiction and the many iterations of our present, suited for everyone and anyone. “I imagined the standard contours of today’s uniforms as fossilized remnants of a long-forgotten past, freed of all associations of class, color or creed,” says Andrew of his Winter 2021 collection. So what does Ferragamo’s utopian future look like? Well, it included rubber clogs, reimagined F-heels with a galvanized finish, baggy bottoms with plenty of break, Matrix-like shades, and robots on the runway—Trinity would most likely have these pieces in her closet. Strap your boots, it’s time to vibe futuristic with Ferragamo.
