Emerging Designer Anna Bolina Doesn’t Give a Fuck

The New York-based designer Anna Bolina has been on our radar for a minute thanks to her popular micro-mini tube dresses and hoodies splashed with meme-like text that reads: “WHO ARE WE TRYING TO IMPRESS/DO WHATEVER YOU WANT NO ONE GIVES A FUCK.” But the brand’s playfully subversive aesthetic extends beyond screen printing. For her Fall/Winter 2022 collection, hosted by Whaam! gallery, Bolina sent towering models in barely-there looks up an escalator in a Chinatown mall to the sounds of DJ MISS PARKER. To get the scoop, we tapped downtown it girl and friend of the brand Sausha De La Ossa to give us her take on the show.

INTERVIEW: Did you see any trade in the audience?

DE LA OSSA: I saw maybe one or two, but they’re all ran through. It’s like public school trade.

INTERVIEW: What was your favorite look?

DE LA OSSA: My favorite look was the one Claire was wearing, I liked the all star belt and the jacket with the hair extensions.

DE LA OSSA: I’m gonna check out Anonymous Club, then go to the afters for this. We’ll see where the night takes me.

INTERVIEW: What’s your highlight of fashion week so far?

DE LA OSSA: This is the only event I’ve been to but I assume this is going to be as good as it gets.
