With Duckie Brown’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection, Steven Cox and Daniel Silver balanced transparent materials with oversized silhouettes, embodying a certain vulnerability with the former and security with the latter. Billowy suits of yellow (the same shade as a fisherman’s anorak) and blue, potato-sack sweat pants tightened with a bow, and tunics of silk charmeuse were paired with sheer shirts that laid bare the models’ chests. Closed off, but still brazenly revealing, the looks screamed “confidence.”
