Lipps Service: Lolla Pop

In our Friday feature, Lipps Service, One Model Management owner Scott Lipps shares photos from his fabulous life with us once a week, right here. This week, it’s a birthday party, then a plane—to Chicago, for a spectacular end to festival season with the world-famous Lollapalooza. With a crew consisting of Nur Khan, Erin Cullison, Shannan Click, Jack Huston, Hilary Rhoda, among many, Scott descended upon Chicago in full NYC style. As he just had a birthday and isn’t 18 anymore, he curated his Lolla experience more than in years past, choosing three to four bands per day over the 12-hour, 10-band days of yore. The first day culminated in the return of Black Sabbath; Scott stood on the stage and watched the epic Ozzy and crew stay like they were still a bunch of young Londoners. The next day almost became a washout, thanks to the crazy thunder and lightning that hit for a few hours (and evacuated Lolla!), but they managed to get together and reopen, and Scott and crew caught Band of Skulls and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (and snapped Dave Navarro). He tagged along with Perry Farrell as Jane’s Addiction did a surprise show with Franz Ferdinand that same night, and had way too much fun. The last day was a full one: hanging out with Danny Masterson and Ben Shulman, then catching Florence Welch, Miike Snow, and the very prolific Jack White with his rotating bands, plus a quick red-bus tour of Chi-town (really!), some Lou Malnati’s pizza, and back to New York City!
