Last weekend, the New York Restoration Project (NYRP)—founded by the legendary Bette Midler—held its annual benefit function at Cipriani. This year’s theme was Boogie Frights, and the guests delivered. Cipriani staff passed out Jell-O shots to the stars in attendance, including the pop icon Kim Petras, who stunned as Michaela Myers aka the female Michael Myers; the designer Michael Kors, who paid homage to Halston by donning the late New York icon’s signature red scarf; and Queer Eye‘s Antoni Porowski. Headlining the magical event was the disco goddess Gloria Gaynor, who brought the house down with hits like “I Will Survive” and a cover of Donna Summer’s “Last Dance.” In a nod to the reawakening of New York City, Mario Cantone of Sex and The City fame hosted the evening, although Midler herself, currently in pre-production on the upcoming film Hocus Pocus 2, was unable to attend — what a fabulous excuse! Below, take a peek inside the glamorous, disco-filled fête.
