Another season of openings; another ritual congregation in the boulevards Chelsea. In his first show at Matthew Marks, Vincent Fecteau showed elusive, brutish compositions of wood and papier-machee—and everyone in attendance remembered his shows at Participant Inc. It was too crowded to even enter at Zwirner's shows for Chris Ofili nad Raoul de Keyser, both of which features small scale works. Bortolami filled up with an excellent show by painter of fragmented figures Magnus Plessen. And then off to dinner, and it happens again tonight.
