On Saturday night Interview attended the 19th Annual Watermill Summer Benefit. Entitled "The Big Bang," this year's benefit included over 20 site-specific installations from artists such as Misaki Kawai, Wang Quinsong, Lucien Smith, Heeran Lee and Paul McCarthy; as well as a silent and live auction including works by Cindy Sherman, Willem de Kooning, Marina Abramovic, Philip Glass, Alex Da Corte and Scott Campbell. 1,200 guests attended raising $1,550,000 for the Center's year-round artist residency and education programs.
Among the attendees were Robert Wilson with benefit chairs Jay McInerney and Anne Hearst McInerney, Rufus Wainwright, Lou Reed, Lisa Anastos, Jorn Weisbrodt, Charles Renfro, Lisa Perry, Shaikha Paula al Sabah, Henry Buhl, Dorothy Lichtenstein, Tatiana & Campion Platt, Louise Blouin, Stewart Lane & Bonnie Comely. As well as Contemporary Chairs and Committee members Valerie Boster, Meredith Melling Burke, Sofia Sanchez Barrenechea, Peter Brant Jr, Harry Brant, Lauren Remington Platt, Martin Dawson, Daisy Johnson, Edward Chapman, Mark Mullet, Behnaz Sarafpour and Roopal Patel.
