In his painting Fundraiser, 2009, Richard Phillips depits a hyper-real woman, bending over to expose her genitals. She stands in front of a white surface with the Kitchen's logo—its trademark K—behind her, looking a little like the symbol fo Mercedes Benz. Needless to say, the painting addresses the sometimes tortured, very public selling of a non-profit for its sustenance. No women got naked at the annual benefit last night.
