An exhibition of works on paper without a contemporary celebrity artist for the poster? Nonetheless, thousands descended on the opening of a smart, tightly hung MoMA exhibition, doubtless in support of curator Christian Rattemeyer—or is it that the name Rothschild still inspires such awe? The collection should: The curator waded through 2,500 works by 650 artists, and ended up with over 300 works, by 150 artists. Even on the lintels were hung with work. Afterward it was time to let loose. At the downtown after-party sponsored by DAP and Saatchi & Saatchi, guards shouted down the curator's wife, Cay Sophie Rabinowitz, as she danced in towering Pierre Hardys on an acrylic table.
