Tuesday night the Clic Gallery, Interview, Perrier,Tito'sVodka, and 7 for All Mankind celebrated another side of Warhol with the opening of Andy Dandy, by the Hilton Brothers. The photos consist of Warhol's legendary "Altered States" portrait session with Christopher Makos. In the pictures, Warhol, wearing wigs and full makeup, looks surprisingly vulnerable. Accompanying each portrait is a gorgeously vivid close-up of a flower by Paul Solberg. Clic Gallery owner Christine Celle says they've never been more relevant: "I think the idea of mixing [the work] makes it contemporary. For a lot of people so much is known about Andy Warhol—Andy is everywhere, but the fact that these [portraits] are with beautiful flowers... I think it's very surprising for people."—GILLIAN MOHNEY
