“I’ve got a lot of nicknames,” says model Marjan Jonkman. “For non-Dutch people, my name is hard to pronounce. My favorites are Marji or March.”

Marjan Jonkman rose to the top of her field quickly—she went from being an exclusive at the Saint Laurent SS 2015 show, her first runway season, to landing campaigns for Topshop, Adidas, Marc Jacobs, Lanvin, and Dsquared2, among others. In real life, she is fun and whimsical. “I’d like to be a bird so I can fly everywhere without a passport,” she tells us. “I won’t be stuck in traffic jams and I can go wherever I want.”

THE PERSON I ADMIRE THE MOST:
My parents—they are awesome. My mom is my lifesaver because I can Facetime her 24/7. During fashion weeks I call her so often; she helps me to go through it. My father is very creative and very funny. He is the best at making jokes; he should become a cabaret [performer].

QUESTIONS I CAN’T ANSWER:
Where I’m going to be in 10 years. I have no clue. I’m actually very curious about what my future is going to look like.

MY GREATEST ADVENTURE:
I have a lot of adventures, not all great ones though. One of my favorites: my last summer holiday to Mykonos with Dean & Dan from Dsquared2.

EVENTS I WISH I’D WITNESSED:
I’m dying to meet Steven Meisel. I think I’ve dreamed about a meeting with him already 10 times.

THINGS I’D LIKE TO IMPROVE ABOUT MYSELF:
I would like to be less impatient and less stressful.

GAMES I PLAY:
I hate playing games. When I’m bored—very bored—I play Gold Miner on the plane.

MY GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT:
I think I’ve never been as proud of myself as when I graduated high school [at the] highest level.

MY GREATEST VICE:
Vodka.

THINGS I’LL BE REMEMBERED BY:
Moschino phonecases and platform shoes.

SOME THINGS I’D RATHER FORGET:
I broke my foot about five years ago when I was at a party. When I came home, my parents didn’t believe I’d broken it so we didn’t go to the hospital directly.

MY IDEA OF HAPPINESS:
Friends, fun, and vodka.

ONE LAST FAVOR I’D LIKE TO ASK:
A small favor: Can we get rid of jetlag? What about just having one clock for the whole world? I don’t mind sleeping while the sun is up and living when it’s down; I prefer that to jetlag.
