The Azealia Banks Guide to Putting Down the Most New York Anthem

Corset by Agent Provocateur. Pants by Hood by Air. Earrings (worn throughout) and Necklaces Azealia’s Own. Rings Stylist’s Own.

Every great city needs a soundtrack, and in 2011, Azealia Banks served one up to her hometown. Named after New York’s shiniest area code (condolences to the 917 crowd), the Harlem-born rapper‘s throbbing, genre-twisting turn-up “212” made her an instant star, with its filthy lyrics (“I guess that cunt getting eaten”), a ballroom-inspired beat, and Banks’s own magnetic bravado on full display in the track’s equally unforgettable video. Azealia Banks, who keeps that same energy on her latest single “Fuck Him All Night,” tells us how she did it, and how you can, too.
