Exclusive Premiere: Chapmix Vol. 2: Art Basel Miami Beach Edition

During and following his days as Interview‘s Soundcloud of the Underground writer and frequent contributor, Alex Chapman has been steadily rising within the New York DJ and nightlife scene. He co-founded Duh., a weekly party held at Up & Down that has welcomed live performances by everyone from Pusha T, A$AP Ferg, and Slick Rick, to Le1f, Miguel, and Virgil Abloh. Although Chapman often DJs these parties, he also frequently soundtracks events throughout the city and across all spectrums—from multiple fashion week events to Chuck Close’s intimate birthday party at Pace. Six months ago, he also released his own mixtape Progress Report.

Though it’s been a little while since Chapman last appeared on Interview, here we are pleased reconnect and exclusively host his Art Basel Miami playlist, “Chapmix Vol. 2: Art Basel.” Much like his former Soundcloud column, the mix is filled with favorites as well as up-and-comers.

“For me, Art Basel is like spring break, only not (as) gross: instead of body shots at Señor Frogs, you’re hopping from hotel open bar to hotel open bar, occasionally stopping to stare at some art,” he says. “With this mix I tried to bring New York to South Beach, and vice versa. Love and light!”
