Ever confuse the treadmill for a runway? Many in New York know the feeling, and Reed Krakoff’s newest styles, Gym Bag I and II, are sure to get blood pumping among the fashion set. A collection of simple yet distinctive squared handbags, the line is a perfect complement to the CFDA nominee’s women’s collection. While Krakoff says he was inspired by a “classic men’s cabin bag,” he’s made a few luxurious upgrades with his design. Ranging in materials from leather to python, the bags give new meaning to second skin. And you’ve got to give it to Krakoff for encouraging physical fitness. With his handbags ranging in price from $790-4,500, the sticker shock alone could give unsuspecting (and out-of-shape) shoppers heart palpitations. Did you really think it was Pilates that put the class in gym class?
