“OW!”

Happy Monday! Here’s our compendium of pop-culture news you may have missed while you were doing more important things over the weekend.

• Lady Gaga was accidentally hit with a pole by one of her backup dancers while performing in New Zealand. Despite sustaining a concussion, she went on to perform 16 more songs. Never let it be said that Mother Monster doesn’t work hard for the money. [P6]

• The Tony Awards—American theater’s biggest awards show, or, as host Neil Patrick Harris called it, “50 Shades of Gay”—were last night. Big winners included Once, which won eight awards, including Best Musical; Peter and the Starcatcher, which won five awards mostly in creative categories; Clybourne Park, which won Best Play; Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, which won Best Revival and Direction of a Play. And rightfully, HBIC Nina Arianda won Best Actress in a Leading Role for Venus in Fur. [Tony Awards]

• Jennifer Lopez refuted rumors that she’s engaged to Casper Smart after being spotted with a diamond on her left ring finger, as only Jennifer Lopez can: by Tweeting “Don’t be fooled by the rocks that I got.” Can’t argue with you there, Jen. [Us]

Madagascar 3 won the weekend box office with $60.4M, followed by Prometheus, which opened with $50M. (Holy crap, did you see Prometheus?!) Snow White and the Huntsman dropped to number three with a respectable $23M; MIB 3 and Marvel’s The Avengers rounded out the top five with $13.5M and $10.8M, respectively. [BOM]

• More than 500 pairs of pants have been delivered to Viacom’s New York and LA offices in protest of the cancellation of MTV’s I Just Want My Pants Back, which is very sweet! This story mentions in its kicker that “Among its supporters is MTV’s Jersey Shore star Snooki,” which we might elide entirely if we, personally, were campaigning for the show’s renewal. [Deadline]

• We’re excited by the first official images from Michel Gondry’s Mood Indigo, which seems to be a return to form for the director. Check it out—Audrey Tautou and Romain Duris ride in a cloud bubble! [/Film]

• Grimes, Kreayshawn, Blood Diamonds, and Tragik got together, decided to call themselves L$D, and recorded a song in 10 minutes. It’s called “DONT SMOKE MY BLUNT BITCH,” and you can listen to it here, if you’re so inclined. [Pitchfork]

• Karl Lagerfeld is collaborating with Shu Uemura for a 17-piece holiday collection due out in November. [Fashionologie]
