One Tiktokker leading the revival is Chrissy Chlapecka, the 21-year-old Chicago native whose breathy falsetto, all-pink wardrobe, and biting sociopolitical commentary have racked up over four million followers on TikTok. If the Gen-Z bimbo is hyperfemme, outspoken, and sexually liberated, then Chlapecka fits the bill—she posts regularly about getting her “clit pierced at Claire’s,” or buying bisexual stuffed animals from Build-A-Bear, while never missing a chance to dunk on any pro-lifers or male chauvinists that cross her path. “I don’t do this for the misogynistic male gaze,” she says in a Tok with two million likes, “I do it for my gaze, and damn! CHLAPECKA: The first thing I do is take my dog, Sugar, outside on a walk.

CHLAPECKA: Oooh I guess it would be Instagram??? I don’t know if I care enough to stalk people hahhahah.

INTERVIEW: What’s your favorite TikTok rabbit hole?

CHLAPECKA: By far, any kind of cooking TikTok. I’m a horrible, horrible cook but I love watching other people do it.

INTERVIEW: What’s your least favorite TikTok trend so far?

CHLAPECKA: All the straight men dressing up in maid costumes for brownie points to hide their misogyny lolllll.

INTERVIEW: What’s a TikTok account you think everyone should follow?

CHLAPECKA: I always gotta shoutout my best friends @anania00 and @griffinmaxwellbrooks on TikTok. Their content is the best and so funny.

CHLAPECKA: My FYP is all makeup vids, dog vids, Y2K fashion posts and lots of humor from people in my queer community.

CHLAPECKA: I don’t know if you’d call Webkinz social media, but my username was “Happy1114.”

CHLAPECKA: Interesting, eye catching, and anxiety hhhahha.

INTERVIEW: Is there anything you’re currently excited to be working on?

CHLAPECKA: This year I’m really diving into my music career with hopes to have fully produced music out by next year!

INTERVIEW: Can you describe your most incriminating accidental email/text?

CHLAPECKA: I may be one of the lucky ones who hasn’t sent an accidental email or text that could give me a year-long panic attack lol…I think it’s just cuz I’m so bad at responding anyway. 

INTERVIEW: Choose one: money or clout.

CHLAPECKA: I guess I’d say clout in the way of having a community. Community is very important and TikTok has given me that.
