When Cynthia Nixon announced her bid to run for governor of New York state last Monday, there was much speculation about how her former Sex and the City colleagues would react considering not all of the four on-screen BFFs got along off-screen.

Kristen Davis, who played Charlotte on the iconic HBO series, was the first to show her support for Nixon’s bid, followed by Nixon’s on-screen love interest David Eigenberg (Steve) and nanny Lynn Cohen (Magda). When asked by a fan on Twitter for her thoughts on Nixon’s announcement, Cattrall kept her answer short and tweeted, “I support & respect any former colleague’s right to make their own career choices.”

This morning, Sarah Jessica Parker who played Carrie Bradshaw, announced her support for Nixon on Instagram. Her caption refers to Nixon as “a mother, an activist, a NY’er and a dear friend,” and endorses her by saying “you have my love, support and vote.” Historically, SJP has supported other Democratic causes, so while at first it was unclear how she’d vote, it’s clear now that her mind has been made up. Nixon shared a screenshot of the Instagram post on Twitter and responded by saying, “Thank you @SJP, it means so much.”
