Millie Bobby Brown, Pete Buttigieg, and Pete Davidson’s Copy of ‘Interview’ Magazine: This Week’s NYC Celeb News Map

As we near toward the 2020 election and the field of Democratic candidates becomes ever more crowded, the stars are gearing up for a wild ride to the White House. The buzzy Indiana Mayor and presidential contender Pete Buttigieg made his first stop in New York in the West Village; and another Pete — Davidson, the Commander-in-Chief of BDE — made a life-changing purchase (we’re biased) at Beauty & Essex on the Lower East Side. Here, we’ve tracked the best of the best star sightings, outfits, and other famous-ish things, making news across New York City’s five boroughs during the week of April 14.

PETE DAVIDSON at BEAUTY & ESSEX, LOWER EAST SIDE

Pete Davidson has long been a Star Map favorite, and this week’s spotting has only further cemented him into our hearts. Page Six reports that the BDE champion stopped by the vintage “pawn shop” at Beauty & Essex on the Lower East Side to pick up a 1987 issue of Interview featuring Eddie Murphy, who once also starred on SNL. (He and a friend also reportedly bought two vintage umbrellas.) We can only hope it inspires yet another tattoo.

PETE BUTTIGIEG in THE WEST VILLAGE; HIS HUSBAND, CHASTEN GLEZMAN at THE WALTER KERRR THEATRE, MIDTOWN, MANHATTAN

Pete Buttigieg of Indiana, the presidential hopeful and navy vet who currently serves as the Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, appeared at his first New York fundraiser Thursday night, hosted at the West Village townhouse of Jujamcyn Theaters’ Jordan Roth with his husband, Richie Jackson. The event reportedly grew to triple capacity, requiring furniture to be moved out of the living room. Already a crowd favorite, Buttigieg’s husband Chasten was seen at the opening of the Broadway musical Hadestown at the Walter Kerr Theatre on Wednesday night. It seems like Chasten had plenty of fun entertaining himself on the NYC trip.

MILLIE BOBBY BROWN at BLACK TAP CRAFT BURGERS & BEER, SOHO

Millie Bobby Brown with friends Maddie Ziegler and Lilia Buckingham at Black Tap in August after the MTV Video Music Awards. She’s a loyal fan.

Black Tap is our preferred spot for colossal milkshakes that ensure a brain freeze, sugar high, and sudden onslaught of existential regret all in one bite. (They’re fun to Instagram, too.) Millie Bobby Brown shares our sentiments, visiting the Soho restaurant this week for a shake. She’s also been spotted there on other occasions, stopping by after the MTV Video Music Awards in August with a couple friends as part of a slumber party. What were you doing in middle school?

NATALIA DYER and CHARLIE HEATON at THE MCKITTRICK HOTEL, CHELSEA

Millie Bobby Brown’s Stranger Things cohort, the onscreen and real-life couple Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton, attended Sleep No More at the McKittrick Hotel in Chelsea on Tuesday night. Nancy and Jonathan in masks immersing themselves in a haunted 1920s interpretive version of Macbeth? We’ve seen stranger. Let’s just hope there was no Demogorgon in sight.

ASHANTI at THE CROSBY STREET HOTEL, LOWER EAST SIDE

Ashanti arrived at the screening room at the Crosby Street Hotel on Tuesday night to watch the premiere of her new film Stuck — only to be stuck without a seat. Apparently a woman was asked to move out of the reserved row, but refused and put up a fight with the usher. “I’ll sit in the back,” Ashanti reportedly said. “I’ve seen the movie!” We love a good sport.
