This year at Design Miami, Fendi partnered with furniture designer Maarten De Ceulaer for a collection of decorative strips that can be affixed to different surfaces. Drawing on the brand’s history of modernist graphics, as well as Bauhaus and De stijl influences, De Ceulaer honed in on the heritage Pequin pattern, stretching the stripes to the third dimension. “It became a soft plank made with foam and upholstered leather,” De Ceulaer explains. “It can be hammered onto anything.”
