Fourteen years ago, Anthony Turner was working at a Toni & Guy salon in the Midlands in England. Now, the former assistant to Guido works with the likes of Saint Laurent, J.W. Anderson, Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, and Dior Homme, setting the trends for the season. An Interview favorite, Turner has shot with Fabien Baron, Mikael Jansson, Craig McDean, Peter Lindbergh, and Patrick Demarchelier for the magazine, among others. “I’d like to be a version of myself that actually acts his age and realizes ‘fuck it’ isn’t an appropriate response to things I know I shouldn’t do, but still go ahead and do anyway,” he jokes.
THINGS THAT INSPIRE ME:
THE PERSON I ADMIRE THE MOST:
AN EVENT I WISHED I’D WITNESSED:
The New Romantic movement in London in the ’80s
QUESTIONS I CAN’T ANSWER:
I’m a Scorpio and we are known for being painfully secretive. It all depends on how much I want you to know.
MY BIGGEST ADVENTURE:
THINGS I’D LIKE TO IMPROVE ABOUT MYSELF:
To keep my mouth shut when drunk.
GAMES I PLAY:
Anything that involves a safe word.
MY GREATEST VICES:
Too many things.
THINGS I’LL BE REMEMBERED BY:
Not keeping my mouth shut when drunk.
SOME THINGS I’D RATHER FORGET:
MY IDEA OF HAPPINESS:
Drawing with the music I like playing.
ONE LAST FAVOR I’D LIKE TO ASK:
I’d like to ask to go back and meet my former self and apologize for everything I’m about to put him through.
