Alexander McQueen’s menswear spring/summer 2016 collection, shown earlier this week during LC:M, brought a Victorian-era Fleet Week to the catwalk. The collection boasted a myriad of emotions often lost with the uniform as well as a range of gaunt silhouettes, including elognated captain’s coats, and contemporary takes on sailors’ regalia and mates’ stripes. Almost every piece was adorned with symbols often associated with those lost at sea—minute compasses, anchors, mermaids, and more. The only thing missing was a captain’s cap.
