During a now-legendary Kardashian birthday party in honor of Saint West and Reign Disick, Kim Kardashian West shared a photograph of North West in a sparkly green Saks Potts two-piece, accessorized with trendy tiny red sunglasses, a scrunchie, and an “I’m cooler than you” pose to match. The image flooded the world’s Instagram feeds, achieving icon status within hours.

The moment soon inspired a host of memes and praise tweets. But unlike the case of your aunt who crowds your Facebook feed with photos of her kids, the more the picture was shared, lauded, and trolled, the more meaningful it became. This is not the first time a tiny human with famous DNA has made headlines or been subject to scrutiny. Think back to the mid-aughts, when the OG celebrity babies — Suri Cruise, Apple and Moses Martin, the Jolie-Pitt clan, et al. — ruled the pre-Instagram press. In 2004, a Vanity Fair cover featuring a smiling TomKat cradling their cherubic Suri hiked the magazine’s sales by 60 percent; two years later, People allegedly offered Brangelina $14 million for the first photos of their twins.

How have things changed since the days when miniature people with outlandish names seemed to dominate the cultural landscape? While parents aren’t being paid millions to put their babies in magazines — in fact, many are actively hiding them — pictures of celebrity progeny are now some of the most viral fodder on social media, cuteness catnip for the masses of content-hungry followers. The celebrity babies of this particular chapter in our social media era are not only famous for being the daughter-of or son-of; rather, these mythic figures have become trendsetters in their own right, with followings that parallel —or even extend beyond — that of their parents.

So, how does each baby’s clout measure against the others’? Here, a ranking of the clout-iest baby celebs in the zeitgeist.

1. NORTH WEST

Although Nori, as we’ve come to know her, doesn’t have her own Instagram account, she’s inspired a series of parody accounts, most notably @norisblackbook — an account written and told entirely in the voice of Kim and Kanye’s sassy daughter. North West is all over her mother’s social media, inspiring an endless stream of memes, plus she’s constantly followed by a swarm of paparazzi giving us enough content to last us until her Sweet Sixteen. Nori also has a designer-filled wardrobe — from custom-sized Yeezys to Balmain leather jackets — and a social circle of fashion insiders, including her mom’s stylist Simone Harouche and family friend Donatella Versace. Bow down to the crown princess of klout. There is no other.

2. ASAHD KHALED

DJ Khaled’s son boasts a staggering 2 million followers on Instagram, and he’s verified. Asahd has already appeared on the covers of magazines, rocked a $34K diamond Rolex — unveiled at his JordanxAsahd collaboration debut—  and celebrated his first birthday at a night club. Asahd has walked every major red carpet and made history as the youngest executive producer in the music business on his father’s album, Grateful. What did you do at age two?

3. BLUE IVY CARTER

Blue Ivy’s brilliance is baked into her DNA. Her parents are Beyoncé and Jay-Z, after all, and her birth was announced to the world at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, when her mother delivered a majestic performance of “Love on Top.” Blue has benefitted from her mother’s global fame, with legion Instagram and Twitter fan accounts devoted to the six-year-old. Her now famous temper-tantrums steal the spotlight from the world’s most dynamic entertainer. That’s clout.

4. STORMI WEBSTER

Stormi Webster — the daughter of Kylie Jenner and rapper Travis Scott — may not cover magazines, but she was nonetheless central to a meteoric yearlong media tour promoting Scott’s sold-out tour, even igniting a feud with Nicki Minaj. All that, and Stormi is next in line for her mother’s $900 million fortune. Move over Paris Hilton, there’s a new heiress in Calabasas.

5. ALEXIS OLYMPIA OHANIAN JR.

Olympia, the product of tennis GOAT Serena Williams and Reddit mastermind Alexis Ohanian, has her own verified Instagram account. With over half a million followers and a Vogue cover under her minuscule belt, she’s already on track to become as influential as her power parents. Much like other celeb babies, she is fully embedded in elite social spheres. Her mother is a close friend of Meghan Markle, so the impending royal baby is sure to be a good pal (or, at least, a regular in her DMs). In a classic example of influencer clout, Olympia has made the unknown hanger-ons in her life celebrities in their own. In this instance, it’s Olympia’s doll Qai Qai. Snapchat even honored the pair with a special filter. Queen Olympia’s future is looking bright.

6. MASON, PENELOPE, AND REIGN DISICK

The Disick-Kardashian clan are Instagram’s poster children — the OG “Insta-Babies.” Kourtney Kardashian, alongside ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, took a page from Gwyneth Paltrow’s parenting hand book — eating her own placenta and pulling out Mason herself during labor. In turn, the Disick-Kardashian kids have grown up to imitate Kourt’s blasé attitude and lax worldview. In other words, they’re the most chill among the celebrity babies. Not to mention Reign’s decidedly regal name.

7. KULTURE KIARI

Though she remained a mystery to the public for months, Cardi B shared the first photo of baby Kulture via a grainy Instagram post a day after announcing her divorce from Offset. That’s all… for now.

8. TRUE THOMPSON

The birth of Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s daughter became a media spectacle, thanks to her father’s messy and very public cheating scandal. While Kris Jenner wasn’t watching, Thompson’s philandering was unearthed the same day Khloe was scheduled to give birth. That’s how you make an entrance. True has a bright, drama-filled future ahead of her.
